It will calculate a target heart rate for each user once they input their personal details. The target heart rate is 85% of the maximum heart rate for a person with these user profiles.

It is the hand grips which measure the heart rate. If you wish to use the treadmill without using the hand grips and still monitor your heart rate then you can purchase a chest heart rate monitor for $49.

The most important parts of a treadmill are also good quality. Smooth have used a high quality 2.5 hp (continuous duty) motor.
